This is one of 3 special Straps we're releasing for Mother's Day. Against The Grain was my choice of inspiration from my mom for two reasons. First - she loves mixing wood patterns in her house, which always drives me crazy when I get there but she loves it so I let it go. 😂
Second, and much more importantly, is the actual name: Against The Grain. Ever since I can remember, my mom has always encouraged me to forge my own road, to go against what was '"popular" and do what was right for me. This was never more evident than while I was in high school. Rather than lecture or talk down to me when I'd bring up my crazy ideas, she'd encourage them. She fostered this idea in me that I could do anything I set my mind to - especially if nobody had done it before. Even when she didn't comprehend what I was saying, she'd just laugh and and say " I trust that you'll figure it out. You always do."
This release is incredibly special for me because it's my way of sharing that inspiration with you - my way of giving you a bit of the encouragement my mom has given me throughout all these years. My hope is that this Strap will give you the confidence to go against the norm and do what you know, deep down, is right. Stand up, be bold and go against the grain.
